My work is driven by an uncanny feeling that captures my imagination; a visual ambiguity, a presence that whispers not to my ears but to my eyes and tells me about places and things hidden (perhaps trapped?) inside of images.
I am attracted to stuff I can’t fully see; like that room at the end of a corridor, only seen through a narrow gap between the wall and the door or the face of a person looking the other way. Places and things where visual reality and imagination find each other, a vastly unexplored territory right at the junction of 2D and 3D realms.
I create sculpted images; 3D objects meant to inhabit the viewer’s space. Landscape is a recurrent theme for me. I recently started exploring Still Life compositions.
In my practice, I combine many techniques i.e. Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, 3D printing, VR, Photogrammetry, Sound Design and more recently, AI.
