Having spent most of her life between Latin America, Europe and Asia, Anne draws her inspiration from the cultures and traditions she has shared and from the sceneries that have surrounded her. She started experimenting with clay in Ecuador, after graduating from university, and found in the plasticity and versatility of this medium a fantastic way of translating feelings and emotions into a physical form.
Delicate lines and striking colours are characteristic of her decorative work, along with a subtle Asian touch she owes to her years in Japan and Singapore.
She likes to set herself new challenges and to experiment with different types of clays and glazes which she mainly mixes, and to create new shapes. This allows her to express herself more freely and explains, together with her international background, the diversity of her creations.
Her works are thrown on the wheel or hand-built. She mainly uses an electric kiln and has also been experimenting with gas, wood, and Raku firings, all of them fascinating techniques she wishes to explore further due to the wide and beautiful array of effects they can produce.
