I am a french artist who started painting 25 years ago. After 15 years of self-taught practice, courses in the Beaux-Arts in France, exhibitions and teaching workshops, I had to take a step back from painting. Now, a decade later, I am diving back into active practice.
Painting is, for me like a choreography, following a path where colour would be the intersection.
The canvas is a stage where I study position, light, shape and colour to reach a sense of harmony.
Each painting requires a specific structural equilibrium, from which can emerge instants of communion and interrogation between the artist, the art and the world as a whole.
Without this equilibrium, I can not compose, move forward, or conclude.
In one word, what I ultimately seek is balance.
At last November’s Art Fair I was delighted to meet visitors who had a real interest in my work.
Two of my older paintings were bought. I was a little sad to see them go, but happy that they had found good homes where they would be appreciated.
