My work involves painting in oil and acrylic; sculpture using a mixture of materials; and textile art using fibre and yarn. I enjoy exploring materials and techniques to express a subject in a decorative or abstract way. Subject matter varies and acts as a device really for artistic exploration. I find inspiration in words, Nature, Art Deco, Matisse and David Mach.

However, the best interpretation of what I hopefully could produce is contained in the following quotation:

“What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.” Henri Matisse
