With a background in textile design Sandy’s paintings come from a deep passion for colour and the freedom and energy that is felt whilst in nature.
Her focus is to capture the space that lies between the abstract and the reality, the chaos and the calm, the dark and the light. Working intuitively using acrylics in an expressive, loose style building up layers she creates a visual language. Vibrant colour pallets develop and evolve through the process. The challenge of the constant push and pull of elements helps to build up layers until the design gets to the all important stage of balance and authenticity.
