Hosted by WAS’ Christine O’Biren:
“Would you like to electronically and easily, store and sort information about your inventory, including your artwork and materials, your income and outgoings, your contacts, and/or other information.
If the answer is yes, WAS’ Christine O’Brien is running a workshop to create and maintain a simple Excel spreadsheet.
No previous experience of Excel is required but you will need to have a laptop with Excel installed that you can bring along to the workshop.
If two people would like to attend and share a laptop, that shouldn’t be a problem.
One artist has previously mentioned how useful it had been to create a spread sheet with information about what art they had left, whether original or prints, if prints, how many, the dimensions, where it is stored (e.g. at the studios or in a gallery) and how much they are selling each piece for. This make life so much easier if there is an enquiry as to whether a piece of artwork is still available, without having to physically search for it.
During the workshop I will cover the following:
Creating and naming your spreadsheet
Inserting and Naming your columns
Inputting your information
Filtering and Sorting your information
Formatting cells (this is the box where each piece of information is put)
Adding columns and rows after your spreadsheet is completed.
Creating simple formulas (e.g. to electronically add up all your income or outings)
Any other items that may crop up during the workshop
I have been working with Excel for many years. I have also carried out training and presentations on various topics over the years.”
